MISSION STATEMENT

The Office of Emergency Management is committed to giving excellent service through partnerships to build and improve the ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from all-hazards and create a safe environment for all communities of the Seminole Tribe of Florida.

ABOUT THE OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

The Office of Emergency Management was created with the goal of protecting the Tribe from all hazards by coordinating and integrating all activities necessary to build, sustain, and improve the capability to mitigate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from threatened or actual natural disasters, acts of terrorism, or other man-made disasters. Since the inception of the Office of Emergency Management, our program has progressed in its mission by incorporating new and evolving technologies and practices.

Today, the growing complexity of disaster occurrences and our responses to them requires the Office of Emergency Management to be proactive in its approach, calculating in its application and consistent in its message. Emergency management is a never-ending cycle of mitigation, preparedness, response, recovery and prevention. The cycle requires extensive management and coordination to ensure that all Tribal departments, personnel, assets, and resources work together efficiently and effectively to protect the health, safety, and the welfare of Tribal Members, as well as visitors and the communities in which they all live, work, and play. The Office of Emergency Management is committed to achieving its mission, thereby creating a more disaster resilient Seminole Tribe.
